Salesforce just posted 13% revenue growth. Good for them. That money came from somewhere.

In their Q1 2027 earnings call, Benioff called it an "outstanding quarter." And it probably was — for shareholders. The platform keeps growing, keeps adding features, keeps raising prices, and keeps expanding the ecosystem of consultants and add-ons you need just to make basic things work.

Here's what that number actually means for you: every dollar of that growth is a dollar that came out of mid-market ops budgets like yours. Budgets spent on licenses you half-use, consultants who charge $300/hour to move a field, and implementations that took six months and still didn't fit how your team actually sells.

You've probably been through at least one of those cycles. Maybe two. Each time, the pitch was the same — this time it'll be different, this time the platform will fit your business. It didn't. And the bigger Salesforce gets, the less incentive they have to care about that.

A vendor celebrating 13% growth isn't celebrating you — they're celebrating the fact that switching feels too painful to attempt.
