Salesforce's market cap just crossed $200B+. AMD is pushing $900B. Both are impressive numbers if you're an investor.
If you're an ops leader trying to get your pipeline data to match reality, those numbers mean almost nothing to you.
What they do tell you: Salesforce is a publicly traded enterprise built to grow its stock price, not to solve your specific quoting workflow or make your account managers' lives easier. Every product decision, every pricing tier, every "innovation" they announce runs through that filter first.
That's not a criticism. That's just how public companies work. But it's worth naming plainly when you're the one stuck waiting 6 months for a feature your team needed yesterday — or paying a consultant $15K to build a workaround that breaks on the next update.
You've already been through at least one CRM cycle that didn't deliver. The answer probably isn't a different enterprise platform with a shinier roadmap. It's software that answers to your business, not to a shareholder deck.
A $900B market cap is a great headline. It just doesn't fix your data problems.
