Salesforce just reported $10.59B in subscription revenue for Q1 — up nearly 14% year over year. Their AI product, Agentforce, crossed $1B in ARR. They raised full-year guidance to nearly $46B.

That's a healthy business. No argument there.

But here's what those numbers don't show: how many mid-market ops teams are buried in Salesforce workarounds right now. Custom objects that made sense three years ago. Flows that break when someone changes a field. A consultant on retainer just to keep the lights on.

When a platform is growing that fast, the roadmap serves the enterprise segment — the logos that move the stock price. You're not that customer. Your requests go into a forum. Your workarounds become permanent fixtures.

The Agentforce milestone is real. But "AI-powered CRM" doesn't fix the core problem: a system built around a vendor's architecture, not your sales process. Adding AI on top of a rigid structure just gives you faster answers to the wrong questions.

You've already been through at least one of these cycles — the big platform, the implementation partner, the go-live that didn't quite land. Another earnings beat doesn't change what it's like to use the thing on a Tuesday afternoon when a deal is moving and the data isn't where it needs to be.

The size of a vendor's revenue is not evidence that their software fits your business.
