That's not a knock on Salesforce as a business. It's a reminder of who the platform is actually built to serve — shareholders and analysts, not the ops leader trying to get a custom pipeline stage approved without filing a support ticket.
When a platform reaches that scale, the roadmap stops being about your workflow and starts being about quarterly earnings calls. Features get built for the demo, not for the person doing the actual work. You end up bending your process to fit their product, and paying a consultant every time you need it to bend a little further.
If you've been through that cycle — the expensive implementation, the workarounds, the team that never fully adopted it — you already know the frustration isn't a skill problem. It's a fit problem.
A CRM with $52 billion in market cap has very little incentive to care about your specific quoting workflow or your unusual deal stages. You're not the customer. You're the metric.
The businesses that finally get CRM right usually stop chasing the biggest name and start asking which tool was actually built around how they operate.
