Here's the honest read on insider compensation news: it tells you almost nothing about whether the software will actually work for your business.

Progressive's CRM president just received additional RSUs as part of a routine equity grant. Fine. Normal executive compensation stuff. The financial press covers it because it moves on a ticker.

But here's what that filing doesn't tell you — whether the product roadmap will ever solve your actual problem, or whether it'll keep serving enterprise contracts while your mid-market use case sits in the backlog forever.

You've probably already learned this the hard way. The vendor looks great on paper. The demo is polished. The executive team is well-compensated. And then you spend six months in implementation, and the thing still can't do what you described in the discovery call without a consultant middleware workaround that costs more than the license.

Executive equity grants don't ship features. They don't fix rigid field structures. They don't give you the ability to change a workflow on a Tuesday because your sales process just changed.

The people getting paid the most at your CRM vendor are rarely the ones thinking about how your team actually enters data at 4pm on a Friday.

Compensation announcements are a reminder that your vendor's priorities and yours are probably not the same thing.
