Salesforce just posted another quarter of strong earnings. Analysts are happy. Shareholders are happy. And you're still manually copying data between tabs because the workflow you need has been "on the roadmap" for three years.
Q1 FY2027 results showed Salesforce growing revenue solidly, with continued investment in AI features and platform expansion. The press release language was predictably glowing. What it didn't mention: none of that growth is coming from making your day-to-day operations easier. It's coming from selling more seats, more clouds, more add-ons to companies already locked in.
Here's what that earnings call actually signals for you. When a platform is optimizing for investor metrics, the product decisions follow the money — not your workflow. Every new AI feature announcement is another thing your admin has to learn, another consultant engagement to configure it, another six months before it works the way your team actually operates. The gap between what Salesforce promises and what you can ship this week keeps widening.
You've already been through the implementation circus. You know how this plays out. Big vendor, big promises, and you're the one explaining to the executive team why the customer data is still a mess after the project is "complete."
A platform's stock price going up doesn't mean your operations problems are getting solved any faster.
