Salesforce's stock ticked up half a percent today. That's good news for shareholders. It means nothing for your pipeline.

While Wall Street watches the ticker, you're still explaining to your VP why the Q2 renewal list is living in three different spreadsheets and a shared inbox nobody checks.

Salesforce's market cap doesn't fix your data model. A 0.50% gain doesn't give you the custom workflow you've been waiting six months for a consultant to build. The financials look fine. Your ops team is still doing workarounds at 6pm on a Thursday.

Here's what that stock price reflects: a business built around keeping you dependent. More seats, more add-ons, more implementation partners standing between you and a CRM that actually fits how your team works. Every dollar of that valuation is partially funded by the gap between what you were promised and what you got.

You've already been through the cycle — the big-name platform, the consultant engagement, the go-live that didn't go well. You know the shape of that disappointment.

The companies quietly winning on CRM right now aren't the ones running on the most expensive software. They're the ones running on software that was built around their process — not the other way around.

A rising stock price is not a product update.
